Anglian Home Improvements currently offers two types of solar products: photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar thermal systems.
Households with a PV system can create their own electricity and potentially sell any surplus generated back to the national grid through Feed-In-Tariffs (FITs). Homeowners who generate their own electricity thus have lower bills as they no longer purchase all their electricity from an energy supplier. Additionally, they are paid for electricity they generate using their solar panels.
Anglian's solar thermal systems generate heat collected in solar panels and use it to heat household water. A solar hot-water system from Anglian could provide an average home's hot-water requirement during the summer, and will contribute to the hot-water needs of a household during the winter. Over a year, it could provide between 40-50 per cent of a household's hot water.
